NLP training levels: Diploma, Practitioner and Master Practitioner

NLP, neuro-linguistic programming, is taught in three levels. Each one has its own certification, its own number of training hours and its own purpose. Knowing what separates them makes it much easier to choose where to start, and what you actually get at the end. If you are new to the field, start with what NLP is.

Level 1 · Foundation30 hours

NLP Diploma

The entry level. You learn the basic techniques and get to know the key ingredients of NLP, in the same way a first cooking class teaches you your tools and your ingredients.

  • More effective communication with the people around you
  • How to use your own potential instead of working against it
  • Setting goals that survive contact with everyday life
Level 2 · Practitioner130 hours

NLP Practitioner

The professional foundation. Here you cook from proven recipes: you learn the methods of the INLPTA Practitioner curriculum and practise them, step by step, with real people.

  • Finding motivation and inner resources when they are missing
  • Leaving unwanted patterns from the past behind
  • Mastering communication in coaching, leadership and relationships
Level 3 · Mastery130 hours

NLP Master Practitioner

The deepening. You no longer need the recipe. Like a chef, you create something good from whatever the moment offers, working with more complex patterns and with groups.

  • Resolving more complex and long-standing unwanted patterns
  • Leading teams and groups with confidence
  • Advanced coaching and modelling techniques

Which level should you start at?

Start with the Diploma if you are curious about NLP and want tools you can use in your own life straight away. It is also the natural first step if you want to try the style of training before committing to a certification.

Choose the Practitioner if you want to work with NLP professionally, or use it seriously in a leadership, teaching or coaching role. It is the level most people mean when they talk about becoming "NLP certified". If you have already completed our Diploma, another 100 hours with us qualifies you for Practitioner.

The Master Practitioner is for people who already hold an INLPTA Practitioner certification and want to work with more complex change, with groups, and with modelling. It is the level coaches and trainers return to when their practice meets situations the standard methods do not quite cover.

How the training is delivered

Every level is available in three formats: classroom training with a group in Stockholm, live online training in small groups, and on site for organisations that want the training adapted to their leaders, teams and goals. The format changes the setting, never the curriculum or the certification.

Each program follows the INLPTA guidelines. That means the certification is recognised internationally, gives you a licence for independent NLP work, and qualifies you for membership in the international association. The profession's ethics are set out by ANLP, and we work to them in every course.

How long does it take?

The Diploma is 30 hours and usually runs over a few days or a handful of evenings. Practitioner and Master Practitioner are 130 hours each and are normally spread over several months, so that you have time to practise between sessions. The trainings are held in English or Swedish depending on the group.
